Orange County administrative offices will be closed on Friday, April 18, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. Some services normally open to the public will also be closed on Sunday, April 20. Please note the following adjustments to county operations.

April is Native Plant Month |
|
|
Orange County Board of Commissioners has approved a proclamation designating April as “Native Plant Month in Orange County, NC." Native plants are widely recognized to be a key component in healthy regional ecosystems. Establishing and rebuilding native plant populations is critically important to pollinators, birds and small mammals, as well as land and soil conservation and wildfire prevention. Learn more about native trees and shrubs on Monday, April 21, at the Seymour Center.

Orange County Board of Commissioners Approve Land Purchase Agreement for Future Crisis Diversion Facility |
During their April 15 meeting, the Orange County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase and sale agreement for a property that would serve as the future site of a crisis diversion facility, marking a major step forward in the county’s commitment to providing comprehensive behavioral health services.

| Kitten season is approaching and Orange County Animal Services needs your help to prepare for all the adorable little felines that will be arriving at the shelter.
Consider donating items like canned and dry kitten food, milk replacer, toys, blankets, heating pads, bottle feeding supplies, etc.
