In over the course of a few months, Colonel Christopher Elliott, MD ('07) was awarded Fellowship in the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS) and joined Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences as an assistant professor of surgery. He was also named a member of the Board of Directors for Healing Faith Uganda, a non-profit organization focused on preventing and treating malaria in Uganda, after returning from training general surgery residents at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya through the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons. After being promoted to the rank of Colonel in the United States Army, he retired after 25 years of service, which included multiple deployments on the Austere Forward Surgical Teams to Iraq and Afghanistan.
He currently resides in San Antonio, Texas, with his family, including six children still at home, where he practices colorectal and general surgery in private practice. His first son, Colin, who was born during his first year of medical school, just graduated from high school and will be playing collegiate soccer at Gordon College in Wenham, Mass.
Paul Espinoza, MD ('97) recently became the newest member of the SCMA Members' Insurance Trust Board of Trustees. He will be responsible for the administration of the Trust as well as the management and investment of plan assets.
Anita Moton, MD ('19) was featured in a Rising Stars interview by VoyageATL, an Atlanta-based online publication that has a mission to "build a platform that fosters collaboration and support for small businesses, independent artists and entrepreneurs, local institutions and those that make our city interesting."
