I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kristi Harris as our new Interim Assistant Vice President of Equity and Title IX Coordinator and Zaibis Muñoz-Isme as our new Assistant Vice President of Inclusive Leadership and Learning.
With over 20 years of professional experience, Kristi’s most recent appointment was as the Chief Attorney for the United States Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights, Boston regional office. In this role she was responsible for managing and editing the work of more than 30 civil rights attorneys and investigators who conducted investigations of discrimination complaints alleging violations of Title IX, Title VI, Section 504, Title II, the Age Act, and other statutes and regulations throughout the New England area.
As Interim Assistant Vice President of Equity and Title IX Coordinator, Kristi oversees Equity and Title IX, providing strategic direction and assist in oversight and implementation of the University policies: Discrimination and Non-Title IX Sexual Misconduct Policy and the Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy.
With over 15 years of transformative leadership advancing inclusive excellence, Zaibis Muñoz-Isme has steered institutions through moments of crisis and change with vision and resolve. She has led cross-campus response teams for climate incidents, built coalitions to address bias-related conflicts, and designed inclusive education frameworks that merge scholarship with real-world impact. At Hofstra University, as Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs in the Student Enrollment, Engagement, and Success division, she was charged with driving the strategic merger of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Zaibis streamlined complex units, reallocated fiscal resources to maximize student success, and restructured departments to create stronger, more equitable outcomes for the entire student body.
As Assistant Vice President of Inclusive Leadership and Learning, Zaibis leads strategic campus-wide initiatives in leadership development and inclusive learning and drives climate education and action.
