As UTA's new vice president for enrollment management, Luisa Havens Gerardo said her job, while mostly behind the scenes, is making sure all those pieces are working optimally.

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 2, you can pick up one pair of eclipse glasses from the information desks in the University Center and the Commons, while supplies last. There will also be glasses available at the viewing locations on the day of the eclipse, while supplies last.
If you wish to guarantee that you will have glasses, or you need more than one pair, you may purchase them in advance for $4 each from the UTA Planetarium online or at the Planetarium between 12 and 3 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
The UTA Planetarium offers eclipse glasses for UTA departments at a discounted rate. The glasses are $2.50 each with a minimum order of 25 and a maximum order of 500. To submit an order, email planetarium@uta.edu and provide a cost center.

| National Public Health Week

The College of Nursing and Health Innovation has activities planned for National Public Health Week (April 1-5), including a discussion on time management, a public health career and internship fair, a research roundtable, and a mental health edition of Family Feud. Donations to the Maverick Food Pantry will be accepted at all National Public Health Week events. View items that the food pantry needs.

Encourage students to register for Be Money Smart events taking place this week. Workshop topics include budgeting, stocks, credit scores, tax essentials for young professionals, and more. Students can attend in person or virtually. Free donuts, snacks, and refreshments are available for in-person attendees.

Fresh Check Day will be a mental health check-in with free food, prizes, and more. Interactive booths will be in the UTA Central Library Mall on Wednesday, April 10, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Expect traffic, parking delays for solar eclipse
|
On Monday, April 8, your usual parking lot will likely fill to capacity earlier than normal. With a parking permit, you will be allowed to park in other areas of campus that your permit normally doesn’t provide access to. Spaniolo Drive will be closed from 1st Street to 3rd Street from 6 a.m. to 4.pm. Expect delays and detours. Navigate to the FAQ section at the bottom of the Solar-bration website for details on parking and traffic conditions.

| Department of Music to host Gala Concert

Purchase a $10 ticket to the gala concert set for Tuesday, April 16, 7:30 p.m. at the Arlington ISD Center for Visual and Performing Arts. Participants in the gala will include UTA Jazz faculty, guests, UTA string and jazz studies programs, UTA A Cappella Choir, University Singers, UTA Symphony Orchestra, and the Children's Choir of Texas.

Outside activity reporting

UTA’s Compliance, Accountability, Risk, and Ethics Committee would like to remind all employees of their ongoing obligation to report whether they have any outside activity or other potential conflicts of interest or commitment in the Outside Activity Portal. Employees must make reports at least annually or when there is a reportable change to their outside interests. Additional details about employee responsibilities can be found in the Conflicts of Interest, Conflicts of Commitment, and Outside Activities Policy (EI-PO-02).

UTA Network security enforcement
|
OIT is enabling network security enforcement on all UTA-owned and -managed Windows and Mac devices connected to the UTA campus network over the next two months. This work is part of the Network Access Control project. Enforcement will be conducted building by building as outlined in the enforcement schedule. Devices that do not meet security compliance standards will be quarantined and unable to access UTA resources. If your device is impacted, you will receive a pop-up approximately one week in advance.
