Initial Cookie Order Deliveries in Progress |
Initial Cookie Order deliveries run now through February 20. Last week’s edition of The Cookie Press features important delivery prep information. Whether you participate in a Mega Drop or Mini Drop, remember to:
|
-
Verify the cookie totals at the delivery location and again before distributing cookies to families.
- For any cookie miscounts, report the issue using the Initial Cookie Order Issue Form within 24 hours of the delivery.
-
Set a day and time for families to pick up their inventory. Remind families cookies cannot be delivered until February 21.
-
Provide a receipt or have an email/text to verify the cookie pickup. Use the receipts provided in your troop materials and have the parent/guardian sign it before receiving cookies. Remember, a Family Cookie Responsibility Form must be completed before providing families with inventory.
-
Complete a Troop to Girl Transfer in Smart Cookies to credit the family with the packages in the system. Verify the cookies transferred match the receipt.

Cookie Chat: Smart Cookie Resources & Starting the Sale |
The National Girl Scout Cookie Finder |
The Girl Scout Cookie Finder is used by cookie customers to find nearby cookie booths or to purchase cookies to ship to their homes. If customers are looking for shipped cookies, the Cookie Finder will rotate through a list of troops in their zip code starting February 17. Set up your Troop site in Digital Cookie to get included in this list. You can view any shipped cookie sales from the Cookie Finder (or from sharing your Troop Ship-Only Link) in Smart Cookies. Go to Orders>Troop Direct Ship Orders. No action is needed for these sales in Smart Cookies now. Sales can be distributed to girls selling before the reward order deadline.
|
Digital Cookie Shipped Cookie Orders Support |
Digital Cookie online sales have begun, and families may connect with you when their customers have questions on their shipped cookie order. Here’s the scoop on what happens after a customer completes a shipped order:
|
-
Once the order is placed, the customer will receive an email confirmation.
- The customer can track their order using the tracking information in their emails.
- Cookies arrive generally within 10-14 days.
|
Here’s a quick rundown on this season’s patch programs. Share these opportunities with your Troop to earn extra cookie patches:
|
Cookie Seller Spotlight: Girl Scouts or Troops can share their stories of skills learned, customer service, marketing, and tips that help them to close the sale. Weekly winners will receive the exclusive patch and the entries that are selected as Cookie Spotlight Sellers of the Year will win a troop experience at Dave & Busters!
|
Cookie Share Donation Program: Girl Scouts/Troops can choose to participate in one or both donation options: using troop inventory and/or council inventory. For both options, money is collected from customers for the packages. These cookie donations are then made to local non-profits. The Cookie Share donation patch is earned for selling 20 or more donated packages.
|
LemonAID Philanthropic Program: At the 130 package sales level, Girl Scouts can choose to support our LemonAID philanthropy program and receive a special patch. This year’s LemonAID partner is Pet Haven of Minnesota. Learn more at pethavenmn.org.
|
Nominate a Volunteer for the Cookie Spirit Award |
Celebrate the amazing cookie volunteers who embody the Girl Scout spirit! Nominations are now open for the Cookie Spirit Award—recognize a volunteer by completing the nomination form.
Starting February 24, two winners will be announced each week throughout the season. Each will receive a Cookies On the Go prize pack, including a travel box bag and Cookie Tote. Winners will be contacted by River Valleys and featured in The Cookie Press. Submissions roll over each week, so keep the nominations coming!
|
Cookie Cupboards and Planned Orders |
Council On-Demand Cookie Cupboards open for the season February 21. The locations include Blaine, Burnsville, Eden Prairie, Mankato, Oakdale, Roseville, and Rochester. Our Cookie Cupboard information has been updated, including the handy Cookie Cupboard Reference Sheet and the Drive-Up Directions for accessing each cupboard.
For troops that use a Regional or Regional Express Cupboard, planned orders open on February 20 and will close at 7am on February 24. Regional and Regional Express Cupboards will be stocked with inventory to pick up starting Cookie Go Day. Check out the Planned Order FAQ’s on our Cookie Cupboard FAQ’s page to get the scoop on using these cupboards.

Cookie Marketing Images and Clip Art |
In last week's edition of The Cookie Press we forgot to include the folder to our cookie marketing images. You can access the images here.
|
Here’s the latest information to copy & paste, then forward to the families in your troop:
|
-
Digital Cookie online sales and cookie pre-sales have begun! Reach out to me if you have any questions as we launch the season. Report your pre-sales to me by (insert date) so I can make sure we have the cookies to cover your orders.
-
Adding your QR code from Digital Cookie and placing it on door hangers and business cards can be a fun project to complete now! Follow the steps in the Digital Cookie Help Center to learn more about how to find your QR code and use it for cookie orders and payment.
- Don’t forget to set up, approve, and publish your Digital Cookie site on a web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, etc.) then download the Mobile App so you can accept credit cards for in-person and booth sales. Review the instructions for booth payments here: Digital Cookie Mobile App Booth Payments tip sheet
- If you missed the Virtual Cookie Rally, you could still join in the fun! Check out the video to jumpstart your sale.
|
Supporting Troops at the Start of the Sale |
The start of the sale is an exciting time! Here are some tips for supporting your troops:
|
- Remind troops of the importance for families to wait until Cookie Go Day to deliver cookies and begin Cookie Booth sales.
- Once the families have received their initial cookie order, troops must collect payment for 50% of their current inventory before releasing more inventory.
-
Troops must provide families with a receipt any time cookie inventory or money is exchanged.
- Share the resources for Digital Cookie and provide space for volunteers to get their questions answered.
-
Direct Troops to join our Cookie Chat on February 20 for just-in-time reminders on starting the sale and transferring cookies in Smart Cookies.
