Experience Launches March 16 |
Starting March 16, the university will begin transitioning to Experience, the new Banner portal for students, faculty, and staff. Experience will fully become the primary academic portal in the Fall 2026 semester.
During the transition, students will use Experience to register for Fall 2026 classes. Academic tasks for Spring 2026 and Summer 2026 (such as checking grades or registering for summer classes) will still take place in myOleMiss.

Embracing the Possibilities |
Each month, we’re highlighting how Encompass will make everyday tasks easier.
|
|
|
Experience is Mobile Friendly |
Experience is designed to work seamlessly across devices, making it easier for students to register for classes, check academic information, and stay connected—whether on a laptop, tablet, or phone.
|
| Forecast Your Time Off Balance |
In Workday, you can forecast your time off balance by selecting Time Off Balance, entering a future date, and selecting OK. Workday will calculate your projected accrual so you can plan ahead with confidence.

Workday Refreshes Twice a Year |
As a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, Workday receives two system updates each year, introducing new tools and improvements. These updates typically happen in March and September.
In this upcoming refresh on March 14, the most noticeable change will be a slight redesign of the Workday homepage, with the search bar appearing more prominently.
There’s nothing you need to do—training materials will be updated to reflect the new layout.

Finding Your Unit Initiator in Workday |
Unit Initiators are employees authorized to start business processes on behalf of their department (like hiring or organizational chart changes). They were previously known as E-Form initiators.
To find your Unit Initiator:
|
-
Select your Profile in the top-right corner and choose View Profile.
- Open the Job tab from the menu on the right.
- Select Support Roles at the top of the page (you may need to use the More dropdown to see this option).
|
On the Support Roles tab, you can see the workers assigned to your area, including your Unit Initiator, HR Partner, Manager, and other support roles.

What is a Time Ticket in Banner? |
A Time Ticket is a student’s assigned registration start time (previously called registration windows in myOleMiss).
Once a student’s time ticket opens, they may register at any time before the add/drop deadline, provided no holds are present.
Students will be able to find their assigned time ticket in Experience as Priority Registration approaches.
