More than a dozen on-campus and local community organizations came together for the seventh annual Veteran Resource Fair. Held outside the Office of Military and Veteran Services, the event showcased the services these groups offer to make the transition to college easier for student veterans and their families.

Christine Spadola led a team of researchers in examining how sleep education affects students personally and professionally. She says that research findings like hers demonstrate the true impact that good sleep health can have on a person.

UTA harvests first climate-smart soybean crop

Biologist Woo-Suk Chang and his team have harvested their first crop of climate-smart soybeans at a farm in South Texas. The historic harvest is part of a $5 million project funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to test whether climate-smart agricultural practices can reduce emissions of greenhouse gases responsible for climate change.

Adaptive Sports Expo, UTA Movin' Mavs on the basketball court

Adaptive Sports Expo

Adaptive sports organizations will present and give demonstrations at the eighth annual Adaptive Sports Expo, Saturday, Sept. 21, in the Maverick Activities Center (MAC). Learn about and see a variety of adaptive sports in action, including basketball, rock climbing, sled hockey, fencing, tennis, pickleball, and more. UTA's Lady Movin' Mavs and Movin' Mavs will participate in scrimmages, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Paralympians will engage in a panel discussion at the MAC Auditorium, 12-1 p.m.

This is a reminder for employees who recently received notification to complete their annual employee compliance training in Canvas. The due date for annual compliance training is Thursday, Oct 17. Late night study space available, Breezeway at Hammond and Trimble  Halls, student ID required

Late-night study space for students

UTA has opened a new late-night study space for students in the breezeway area connecting Hammond Hall and Trimble Hall. The area, equipped with furniture and Wi-Fi, will be open 2 a.m.-7a.m. or any time the libraries are closed. Students will need to use their Mav ID to swipe to enter the facility for late-night access. Each night before UTA libraries close, students will be encouraged via intercom to use the late-night study space if needed. This initiative is a collaboration between UTA Libraries, the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Facilities Management, and the Office of Information Technology.
