News & Notes for May, 2024 |
|
| Hello Fellow Warhawks!
Happy May Day! I have fond childhood memories of May day and making little baskets out of paper, putting dandelions in them and secretly leaving them at the doors of our neighbors. There is something very special about giving someone an unexpected gift or compliment. It makes their day and yours! Let your fellow co-workers know that they matter, do something unexpected for them today!
Welcome to our new newsletter format, I hope it is easier to read. Please give us your feedback.
There is a lot going on in the HR world right now. First, the new Title IX Regulations have come out. Please see the Title IX section below for more information.
The Department of Labor (DOL) has released the new overtime rules for the Fair Labor Standards act (FLSA). We are working closely with UW Shared services to make sure we are compliant with these new rules. More information will come in our next newsletter.
REMINDER!! Employee evaluations are due June 30th. Please let us know if you have any questions.
We are very excited to announce Professional and Personal Enrichment Days, June 5th and 6th. See the Professional Development section below for details! Mark your calendar!
I want to extend a very special thank you to our student worker, Tyler Carver. Tyler has worked in our office for the last couple years and has been an invaluable part of our team. With the recent departure of our HR Coordinator, Tyler stepped up and filled in for most of that role while finishing out the last semester of his senior year. Tyler at an HR Department of a great Wisconsin company. Congratulations Tyler!
Enjoy the last couple weeks of the semester and remember to take time to pause for yourself.
