At Bay: As reported yesterday (7/8) via Breaking News, Connoisseur is selling its 94.5 frequency in San Jose, home of Country KBAY, to Christian broadcaster K-Love for $2 million, while retaining the station's call letters and intellectual property. Without revealing specific plans, OM J. Love tells Country Aircheck, "We're getting a bigger signal, which is an awesome thing for us." KBAY simulcasts on 92.1 (KKDV/Walnut Creek, CA). Connoisseur also owns Hot AC KEZR in the market, and acquired four stations in nearby San Francisco from Bonneville in May (AC KOIT, Urban AC KBLX, Top 40 KMVQ and Classic Rock KUFX). The 94.5 frequency sale is expected to close in early fall.

Life Note: KPNW/Seattle morning host Tanner Chambers returned to the air today (7/9) following a monthlong hospitalization and 56 days off the air (CAT 5/27), sharing with listeners that he's been diagnosed with the autoimmune condition Berger's disease. He's now on the kidney transplant list with 5% kidney function, and undergoing dialysis three times a week for four hours at a time. Listen to his announcement from this morning's show here.
