Nearly 4,500 UT Arlington students crossed the stage at commencement ceremonies Friday, Dec. 15, at Globe Life Field. Among the newest class of alumni are a nursing doctoral graduate who rededicated herself to education after suffering sudden vision loss, an Air Force veteran who wants to better support neurodiverse children, a Native advocate who found a new path for his life in social work, and a teacher's aide who—with help from UTA officials—held his commencement early so his terminally ill wife could attend.

Researchers at UTA have developed the first methods to identify and characterize all the various irregular forms of amyloid beta, adding another valuable piece to the search for the exact causes of Alzheimer’s disease.

Nur Yazdani, a civil engineering professor, received a three-year grant from the Texas Department of Transportation to evaluate the performance of selected deteriorating and aging highway bridges and help the state decide which need repair and how best to accomplish that.
