Message from the Kansas CASA Association, Inc. State Director |
|
|
As we enter this season of gratitude, I want to pause and share my heartfelt thanks with each of you across our Kansas CASA network. From rural to urban communities, CASA is here to make a difference across the state of Kansas—and that impact is only possible because of you.
Every day, the dedicated staff, volunteers, board members, and community partners across the state bring compassion, determination, and hope to children in the child welfare system. The children served by the local CASA programs—our CASA kids—are at the center of everything we do. Their courage, resilience, and strength are constant reminders of why this mission matters so deeply.
And during this Thanksgiving season, I find myself holding those children even closer in my heart. Many of them face holidays without the comfort of familiar traditions or the stability every young person deserves. Remembering their stories and their needs reminds us that every effort—every advocate trained, every partnership built, every program supported—creates a brighter path forward for a child who needs it most.
This year has brought new opportunities, renewed momentum, and meaningful progress toward expanding CASA’s reach to more counties across Kansas. I am grateful not only for what we have accomplished, but for the spirit of dedication and collaboration that fuels this work statewide.
As you gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, I hope you find moments of rest, joy, and reflection. Thank you for all you do—and for the countless ways you bring hope, stability, and encouragement to children and families across Kansas.

Wishing you a wonderful and peaceful holiday season.
With gratitude,
Deena Gage | State Director

Thank You for Supporting Our First-Ever
Planting Seeds of Hope: Online Charity Fundraiser & Auction |
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported, shared, donated, and participated in our first-ever Planting Seeds of Hope: Online Charity Fundraiser and Auction. Your generosity truly means more than we can express.
Because of your involvement, we were able to plant meaningful “seeds of hope” that will grow into real impact for children served by local CASA programs across Kansas. Every bid, every donation, and every act of support helps ensure that more children in the child welfare system have a caring advocate by their side and a voice in court.
Launching a brand-new fundraiser is no small undertaking, and we are so thankful for the encouragement we received along the way. Whether you donated an item, helped spread the word, or placed a bid, you played a vital role in making this event a success.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping strengthen CASA services throughout our state. From rural to urban communities, CASA is here to make a difference across Kansas—and your support helps make that possible.

💙 Celebrating National Adoption Month in Kansas 💙 |
November is National Adoption Month, a time to honor adoptive families and raise awareness about children in foster care waiting for permanent homes. While many children return safely to their birth families as reunification is the primary goal, for some, adoption provides the stability and safety they need when returning home safely is not possible. CASA volunteers and local programs play a critical role in giving these children a voice and supporting them on their path to permanency.
We were inspired by CASA of Sedgwick County’s recent celebration post on their Facebook page on National Adoption Day, November 22, 2025:
"Today, CASA of Sedgwick County was honored to join EmberHope and so many incredible community partners to celebrate 37 adoptions! Each adoption represents a child finding safety, stability, and a 'no matter what' family. One adoption was extra special for one of our CASA volunteers who has walked alongside the youth for more than 3 years!"
Congratulations to all the incredible families and children! Moments like these remind us why our work matters so much — helping children find safety, permanency, and hope for the future.
