Happy Holidays
As 2023 comes to a close, thank you for your involvement in all of our programs, some of which are highlighted here.
From the WISE Pre-Orientation program, to the grand opening of the new Emory Interfaith Center, to longstanding programs such as the IRC, VOIS Gospel Choir, International Community Friday Lunch, and so many weekly gatherings and holidays, we are grateful for sharing the past year with you.

Save the Date: Emory King Week 2024
Emory University King Week is a series of programs offered in January by various Emory units to honor the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights movement. Programs include educational lectures, spiritual events, community service projects, celebrations, and exhibits.

MLK Sunday
MLK Sunday in Beloved Community Worship
Sunday, January 21, 2023, 11:00 a.m. service, Noon lunch, Cannon Chapel
Join Beloved Community for worship and lunch on MLK Sunday. Our speaker will be Dr. Carol E. Henderson, vice provost for diversity and inclusion, chief diversity officer, and adviser to the president at Emory. She is professor emerita of English and Africana Studies at the University of Delaware and the author and editor of five books as well as numerous essays and journal articles.

Emory Beloved Community is a weekly ecumenical Protestant worship service planned for the campus community that gathers Sundays at 11:00 a.m. during the academic year in Cannon Chapel. All are warmly welcome. For more information, please contact religiouslife@emory.edu.

Recap: Emory Chanukah Celebration 2023
On Thursday, December 7 a record-breaking crowd showed up to celebrate Chanukah at our third annual "Chanu-Kaldi's." Participants joined in candle lighting, eating jelly doughnuts and potato latkes, playing dreidel, and sharing warm drinks and community. The event was sponsored by the Emory Office of Spiritual and Religious Life in conjunction with Chabad, Hillel and Meor.

On Friday, December 1, the Candler School of Theology's Master of Theological Studies cohort, along with interim director Dr. Helen Kim, enjoyed an end-of-semester gathering celebration lunch and a tour at the Interfaith Center, learning about multifaith chaplaincy and interfaith life at Emory

WISE 2024 application
Welcoming Interfaith and Spiritual Exploration (WISE): Apply to Be a WISE Pre-Orientation Student Coordinator
OSRL is hiring Student Coordinators to lead the Peer Mentor team for our 2024 WISE Pre-Orientation. The WISE Student Coordinator is a paid, part-time role starting in February 2024 through August 2024. The position requires 4-5 hours per week during the Spring 2024 semester starting in February, a few hours per month in the summer, and an increased time commitment starting during the second week of August during final pre-orientation preparations and for the Peer Mentor training and the WISE program (August 19-23).

Emory Cares: Community Impact Leadership Program Spring 2024 Applications
The Emory Alumni Association is now accepting applications for the Spring 2024 cohort of the Emory Cares: Community Leadership Impact Program (CLIP).  
Launched in the spring/summer of 2023, CLIP will strengthen Emory’s presence and relationships with nonprofit boards and Atlanta-area alumni.  The spring 2024 cohort will be comprised of alumni who are interested in serving on a nonprofit board and/or have previous experience on nonprofit boards.  Through a series of workshops and gatherings, the cohort will learn to be effective nonprofit board members and agents of community change.

Study Abroad in Poland with the Tam Institute for Jewish Studies
Building on the positive feedback from 2023 participants and strong programmatic foundation, TIJS is excited to offer an expanded iteration of the program for Emory undergraduates in Summer 2024.  To that end, this year’s version will feature a 11-day, 1-credit summer study abroad program in Poland, taking place May 19-30, 2024.  Read More>>
