NEW REPORT INDICATES INCREASED NUMBERS OF INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING STUDENTS IN US
A new report, "The State of U.S. Science and Engineering 2024," has revealed that the number of international science and engineering students in the United States has rebounded and now exceeds pre-pandemic levels, increasing from approximately 200,000 in 2020, a pandemic-era low point, to nearly 310,000 in 2022. The report, which is prepared by the National Science Board as mandated by the National Science Foundation, is submitted to the president and Congress every even year. This year's data also certifies that the United States largest performer of research and development (R&D), with $806 billion in gross domestic expenditures on R&D in 2021.
