Is YouTube TV increasing its subscription price?
Yes, YouTube announced that it's raising the price of its YouTube TV subscription to $72.99 per month, which is an $8 increase from the previous $64.99 monthly fee. New members are paying the increased price immediately, while existing members will see the price change starting on their next bill after April 18th. If you're currently on a Base Plan promotional price or a trial, that promotion is still honored and unchanged.
The Google-owned company blames a rise in content costs for the change. It's the first YouTube TV price increase in three years. In July 2020, the monthly price for YouTube TV increased from $49 to $64.99. The service debuted in 2017 at $35 per month. There's some good news, however. YouTube TV is dropping the price of its 4K Plus add-on. So, instead of $19.99 per month, it'll now cost $9.99 per month. |
