Civil discourse at IUP gets a boost with federal funding for new center; meet the director of Fraternity and Sorority Life; and more.

Curt Cignetti, IUP’s head football coach from 2011 to 2016, is standing on top of the college football mountain. On Monday night, his Indiana Hoosiers beat the Miami Hurricanes, 27-21, in the College Football Playoff National Championship game in Miami, Florida, in front of more than 67,000 fans. The US Department of Education has awarded the university nearly $2.3 million to create the Center for Dialogue and Civic Life, a physical and intellectual headquarters for civil discourse innovation at IUP.
