We love February — it’s a great time to share your love for Central College!
We will begin Hoo-Rah Day plans with the 53-Mile Challenge launch on
Sunday, Feb. 18. The 53-Mile Challenge encourages the Central community to practice a healthy lifestyle through movement. Participants can walk, run, bike or swim a total of 53 miles and show their Central spirit during the challenge using #53MileChallenge on social media. Prizes will be awarded!
The mid-January snow bomb forced Central to reschedule our Martin Luther King Day activities. Fortunately, these are now planned throughout the semester. Check out the extended MLK Day schedule and attend sessions as your time allows.
Black History Month brings special programs and the community is invited. “Liberation & Love: Spoke Word Poetry” with Caleb “The Negro Artist” Rainey will be
11 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, Douwstra Auditorium. The Traveling True Black History Museum will bring a unique experience to Central and Pella titled “A Tribute to the African-American Journey,” 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, Boat-Moore-Weller rooms, Maytag Student Center.
Be sure to check out events on campus. If you can’t attend, the Central Dutch Network will continue to host recordings and livestream events.
