CHARGE ON! UAH hosts GSC Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday, March 4 |
Be a part of these historic seasons! Men’s and women’s basketball will both host the GSC Quarterfinals on Tuesday, March 4, at Kelly Court in Spragins Hall on the UAH campus. The women’s team will tip off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are now on sale! Wear blue and support the Chargers!
DID YOU KNOW? With 27 straight wins, the men’s basketball team currently boasts the longest win streak of any program in UAH history across all sports. They are ranked third in the nation!
DID YOU KNOW? The women’s basketball team just capped off their best regular season in program history. They are currently ranked sixth in the South Region!

Taking a closer look at Huntsville’s vibrant music scene, past and present |
UAH hosted “A History of Music in Alabama and Huntsville” on Feb. 25 in partnership with the City of Huntsville’s Music Office and Downtown Huntsville, Inc. Local historian William Hampton and Huntsville Music Board member Codie Gopher delighted the audience with stories of Huntsville’s little-known ties to the entertainment world past and present – from blues to rock to soul to funk to hip-hop. The event also featured live performances by UAH students.

Three Chargers inducted into the Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame |
Three members of the UAH community were among the eight individuals and one corporation inducted into the Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame during a celebration banquet on Feb. 22, 2025. UAH inductees included Dr. Charles L. Karr, president of UAH, as well as two UAH alumni: John Honeycutt, program manager of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) program at Marshall Space Flight Center, and Dr. Kimberly Robinson, CEO and executive director of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

UAH wins $1.35M Army grant to advance human interactions with artificial intelligence |
An interdisciplinary faculty group from UAH has been awarded a $1.35 million grant from the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Analysis Center to support advancements in human-systems integration analysis and artificial intelligence (AI).
“Modern, complex systems, such as autonomous systems, are fundamentally interdisciplinary,” says Dr. Bryan Mesmer, the principal investigator and associate professor of Industrial & Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (ISEEM). “To address the challenges associated with these interdisciplinary systems, it is necessary to approach them through an interdisciplinary lens.”

UAH celebrates Engineers Week 2025 |
UAH celebrated Engineers Week Feb. 16-22, 2025. Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, E-Week is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of, and interest in, engineering and technology careers.
UAH hosted numerous events during the week, including a LEGO design and build competition, art night and the annual “Take a Prof to Lunch” series.
The Engineering Showcase, a major highlight of E-Week, was bigger than ever before.

ICYMI: Homecoming 2025 Highlights |
In case you missed it... Homecoming 2025 was a huge success! In addition to ten Athletics contests, the weekend offered multiple new events for the Charger community. Our students wowed the crowds during the inaugural lip-sync battle, Charger spirit burned bright at the Bonfire and the entire UAH community braved the rain and joined together at the Sideline at Spragins Tailgate Experience. It’s back! ChargerCon 2025 will be held on Saturday, March 29, from noon to 10 p.m. in the UAH Conference Training Center. The event features video game tournaments, an arts festival, a cosplay contest, workshops and panels, a video game indie alley, Madden alley and free play areas. Mark your calendars and watch for more information!
