On Wednesday, October 23, Texas A&M Innovation hosted a successful InnovationU seminar titled “Patenting & Publishing.” The event, tailored to researchers, faculty, staff, and students from The Texas A&M University System, provided practical strategies for balancing academic publishing with patenting, a crucial intersection for innovation and commercialization. featured panelists Dr. Gerard L. Coté, a Texas A&M Regents Professor and expert in biomedical sensing technologies, and Dr. Cynthia Hipwell, a recognized technology and business process innovator, and professor. | 2024 Annual Report Highlights a Year of Growth and Success

Texas A&M Innovation has released its 2024 Annual Report, celebrating a year of remarkable achievements and transformative initiatives. Texas A&M Innovation made significant progress in its first full year of operations as a System-wide office. The office implemented multiple new initiatives that have started to deliver early positive results, and that are expected to yield even more significant results next year and into the future. “I am more confident than ever that Texas A&M has the ingredients to be a world-class innovation leader,” Pete ONeill, Chief Innovation Officer, Texas A&M Innovation. “This year’s achievements are just the beginning as we work to elevate Texas A&M’s impact in innovation and commercialization." Texas A&M Invests $3.4 Million in 17 Research Projects Through ADM Innovation Awards Program
|
Texas A&M University’s Advancing Discovery to Market (ADM) Innovation Awards program has awarded $3.4 million to 17 research teams in the first stage of its second full year of funding, the Division of Research announced.
The awards support Texas A&M researchers as they translate discoveries into innovations with commercial potential. ADM is open to researchers, faculty, staff, and students of Texas A&M University as well as three state agencies: Texas A&M AgriLife Research, the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station and the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. David Sandhop

We are excited to introduce team member David Sandhop, the new Market Intelligence Manager at Texas A&M Innovation. Along with Daniel Odenweller, he will be assisting Janie Hurley and the licensing managers validate market opportunities and identify licensing leads for the many technologies submitted to our office from researchers across The Texas A&M University System. David is an avid Aggie sports fan and makes a mean homemade chocolate chip cookie that has already made him a self-proclaimed office legend, all while supporting our goal to commercialize TAMUS research and spur innovation.
