Five Tibetan monks are gathered around a low black table. They are wearing bright yellow and red silky robes and orange hats with a yellow curved center piece, which stands up from face to back in the middle. They are looking at a circular design that they made using colored grains of sand on the table. A few play instruments.
See Tibetan Buddhist monks create a mandala sand painting by carefully placing each grain of colored sand, or catch their presentations on meditation, focus, stress relief, and working with emotions. On Friday, watch the monks perform “Sacred Music and Sacred Chants” in Fisher Auditorium—tickets are available online. Learn about all of the week’s events.
