September 2023 Edition 
September is flying by! We are so excited that our fall schedule is booking up, which means more education, outreach, and awareness about inclusive higher education in Colorado. With two new IHE programs launching next fall, we are working harder than ever to open the door to college for students with intellectual disabilities!

Student Story: Michael Presents to Special Education Directors

Last week, IN! presented at a conference for special education directors across Colorado. We were thrilled to invite Michael, a UCCS graduate, to share about his college experience and life after graduation. 
Michael discussed his experiences with academics, social life, vocational preparation, and independence in college. He also shared about how he continues to live independently after college. 
He said, "I learned of being independent and being who I am by trying to live on my own and being the kind of person that I am now. I like living the life that I have!" Be sure to click the button below to hear more from Michael.

IN! Fall Webinars Continue
Our fall webinar series continues, focusing on the key resources for success in college as well as the four pillars of inclusive higher education.
Check out the next Webinar, Financial Considerations for College Readiness, featuring a guest speaker from Colorado Office of Employment First (COEF) to discuss Benefits Counseling. This will take place on Thursday, September 28 at 4:30 PM via Zoom.

Community Resources

There will be quite a few events happening over the next month! Here is just a sampling of some of the amazing opportunities to engage with community resources across the state: 
  • The Colorado Western Slope College Fair: Join IN! at this upcoming college fair in Aspen, and attend three different workshops discussing learning supports in college and inclusive higher education options. Click the link to register and click the image below for more details.
  • Food & Film for Inclusion: Join PEAK Parent Center on October 3rd for a night of dinner and learning about the power of inclusion! Watch a documentary and engage in a Q&A with a panel of experts including our very own Christi Kasa, PhD, Director of OIS at UCCS. 
  • Inclusive College Fair: A free college fair for students with ID! Explore inclusive higher education programs from around the country and learn about your options. This college fair is almost never in Colorado, so don't miss your chance while it's here - register today!
