Distinguished University Professor for 2026–27 named; College of Osteopathic Medicine takes a big step forward; and more.

After earning pre-accreditation status from the accrediting body recognized by the US Department of Education, IUP dropped “proposed” from the name of its College of Osteopathic Medicine and can begin recruiting and admitting students to the program and instructing within the approved curriculum. Waleed Farag, professor of computer science and director of the Institute for Cyber Security, was named IUP’s Distinguished University Professor for 2026–27.
