3rd & 4th Grade Grandparents Day Friday, November 7th

This special day is an opportunity for students to spend meaningful time with their grandparents or a special person in their lives. The morning will begin with Mass, followed by coffee, donuts, and a fun game of bingo.

Event Details:

Guest Arrival: Starting at 8:10 A.M. at the school.

Classroom Greeting: Guests will be assisted in finding the student’s classroom.

Mass: Begins at 8:30 A.M., with students and guests walking together to the church.

Reception: After Mass, guests are invited to Kampschneider Hall for coffee, donuts, and bingo.

To help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, we kindly ask that each student be accompanied by no more than two guests—this can include grandparents, special friends, or non-school-age siblings—due to space limitations.

We are also in need of volunteers to help make this event a success. Please consider signing up using the SignUpGenius link here.

Thank you for helping us create lasting memories for our students and their special guests!

Future Kids Soccer Cleat Collection!

Future Kids is a local, not-for-profit organization in Omaha that provides after school soccer programs to at-risk youth in the Omaha metro area. They are looking for gently used soccer cleats and soccer balls as many of the families that utilize the program are unable to afford soccer equipment. If you have gently used soccer cleats or balls at home (any size) please consider donating! There will be a bin in front of the school office in the lobby that you can place items in. We will take donations through 10/31/25. Please email Tara Sands at tarasands1@gmail.com with any questions! Thank you!

Have some extra critters laying around the house? No, not the creepy crawling bugs or mice that might be coming in during the colder weather. I’m talking about the stuffed or rubber kind. The PE department would love to take  any beanie babies, small stuffed animals, or small toy animals off of your hands. The younger grades will be working on rolling/bowling soon and would love to do an activity called Bowling For Critters. Nothing really bigger than a box of facial tissue for comparison. If you’re not sure if it’s something that I would take, please feel free to reach out to me at booneb@svdpomaha.org and I’d be happy to answer your questions.

Thank you for the consideration and look forward to helping you with your critter problem!

Mr. Boone

Halloween Candy Leftovers

Trick or treat! Halloween is only a week away, and our Student Ambassadors wanted to take a moment to remind you all that they are collecting leftover Halloween candy for Carole’s House of Hope. So if you are looking for a place to get rid of your candy, please have your child bring it to their classrooms starting November 3rd-7th. Our Ambassadors will gather the candy and box it up to be delivered. This is the 4th year we’ve partnered with them, and they look forward to this each year. Thank you for your generosity, and have a very safe and Happy Halloween from your Student Ambassadors!
