ACCOLADES & APPOINTMENTS

Heather Herrington, M.D., associate professor of surgery and pediatrics, has been selected as one of 45 women to participate as a member of the 2023-24 class of fellows in the Executive Leadership in Health Care program at the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® (ELAM®) program at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Marissa Coleman, Psy.D., clinical assistant professor of psychiatry and a well-being advisor for the Larner College of Medicine, was named among the "86 hospital and health system diversity, equity, and inclusion officers to know" for 2023 by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Nine Larner College of Medicine Class of 2026 medical students have been selected to participate as 2023-24 Schweitzer Fellows and will spend hundreds of hours over the next year completing projects that focus on addressing existing health disparities throughout the region in solidarity with community partners.

Jennifer Oshita, NIH NIDCD Doctoral Fellow, Ph.D. candidate with the Clinical and Translational Sciences program, who presented two posters at the Society of General Internal Medicine annual meeting in Denver, won the Distinguished Professor of Health Equity Best Poster Award.

Medical faculty and students volunteered at the Vermont City Marathon in Burlington on May 28, working in the medical tent alongside paramedics, emergency medical technicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and nurses. Katie Dolbec, M.D., associate professor of emergency medicine, served as medical director, overseeing the team of volunteers.
