Village Code requires all garbage to be securely bagged and placed inside an approved trash cart with the lid fully closed.
|
- Bag all trash
-
Always close lids to trash and recycling carts
- Garbage in carts only

A New Splash of Color On Main Street
|
The Storefront, a Village of Skokie initiative, is excited to announce that its brand‑new mural, created by Skokie‑born visual artist Sarah Goone, founder of Radiant Eye Studio, is now complete and ready for the community to enjoy.
Goone, celebrated for her bold, playful, large‑scale work, has transformed The Storefront’s exterior into a vibrant portal of color, imagination and connection. Her newest piece brings fresh energy to Main Street and continues Skokie’s longstanding tradition of championing creativity in public spaces.
This project was made possible in part through the support of the Village of Skokie’s Public Arts Advisory Committee, whose commitment to public art helps ensure that creativity remains a defining feature of our community.
Visit The Storefront, located at 4051 Main St., to see Skokie’s newest public art landmark and be part of the creativity it inspires!

Expression and Contemplation Opens at The Storefront
|
The Storefront (4051 Main St.) is debuting “Expression and Contemplation,” a new exhibit pairing artists Leonid Osseny and Vassi Vasevski in a visual dialogue about energy, reflection, and the emotional depth of painting.
Why the pairing works: The exhibit brings together two Skokie artists whose contrasting approaches — dynamic mark‑making and meditative surfaces — explore how art can hold both immediacy and introspection.
Visit: The exhibit, now on view, runs through Saturday, April 25 with gallery hours Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and weekends, noon to 4 p.m.
Join us for a public reception this Friday, April 17, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
