BIG update about our June alumni event in Washington D.C. 

BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group partner to discuss the School’s new building project 

As you may have seen, after years of unprecedented success and program expansion, the KU School of Architecture & Design has made plans to remake our home in the heart of campus. An inspiring new light-filled studio building designed by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group will create a unified hub for our programs and connect renovated facilities in Chalmers and Marvin Halls. 

Last month, BIG unveiled its design for an innovative mass timber structure that will provide new space for architecture and design students to learn and prepare for the future of design practice. See project details here.

We are excited to welcome BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group partner Kai-Uwe Bergmann to introduce the project at our June 6th alumni event in Washington D.C. Also in attendance will be Lucas Epp, Vice President and Head of Engineering at StructureCraft, who led the development of the building’s  mass timber structure.
