The 2025 Tipping Point all-star line-up announced, to benefit scholarship at Tulane |
The Tipping Point, the annual benefit concert supporting scholarships at Tulane University and celebrating the spirit of the city of New Orleans, will return to the Orpheum Theater on Nov. 14, 2025, during Wave ’25 Weekend. The Tipping Point concert is “the place to be” on the Friday night of Wave Weekend!
Headliners include Ben Jaffe and Preservation Hall Jazz Band, David Shaw (The Revivalists), Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith (Dawes), Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Company, The Allman Brothers Band) plus legends Taj Mahal, Irma Thomas, Amy Helm, and George Porter Jr. This year’s concert carries special meaning as it commemorates the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and honors the strength of New Orleans through the unifying power of music.

Fall Group Therapy Offerings from Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) |
Facilitated by CAPS clinicians, therapy groups are an effective way for students to gain support within a student community with similar concerns. Groups offer connection and support, reinforce the universality of many concerns, enhance perspective, and provide opportunities to practice social skills and gain insights. Group sessions are free and can be attended in addition to individual therapy at CAPS or with an off-campus provider.
List of current offerings: Reducing Social Anxiety with Board Games; Deepening Emotional Intelligence; Mindful Mondays; Survivors; and First Year Transition.
For group descriptions, names of facilitators, meeting times, and other details, students may visit the Fall 2025 groups current offerings webpage. For more information about joining a group, students may call CAPS at 504-314-2277 or visit the group therapy FAQ page.

Mental Health Complete: Virtual Support for Students |
Tulane University now offers students access to Mental Health Complete (MHC), a flexible virtual platform that provides therapy, coaching, psychiatry, and self-guided mental health resources. Students can access care from anywhere, making it convenient to get support for stress, anxiety, sleep challenges, or other mental health concerns on their own schedule. MHC is designed to complement, not replace, the services available through Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS). MHC is paid for through the Campus Health Fee, so students do not need to use their insurance, and there are no copays, deductibles, or claims.
Students should not see a licensed therapist or psychiatrist through both CAPS and MHC at the same time, though they can continue to use self-guided content and coaching through MHC even if they are receiving in-person care from CAPS. Encourage your student to explore MHC as an additional option to support their mental well-being and take advantage of the virtual care resources available to them.

Outreach-Based Flu Clinics |
Flu season is quickly approaching. Because flu spreads easily from person to person and can be deadly for older and immunocompromised populations, it is vital for Tulane students to receive their flu shot and take other steps to prevent the spread of flu. Please encourage your student to take part in this important effort.
Flu shots are strongly encouraged annually for Tulane students. To help students meet this recommendation, Campus Health will be offering a variety of outreach-based flu clinics in October and November. At the conclusion of this outreach campaign, flu shots will be available to Tulane students by appointment at the Student Health Center.
Students can schedule a flu shot appointment at one of the outreach clinics listed on our website through the Campus Health Patient Portal. Walk-ups will be accepted, but appointments are strongly preferred and encouraged.
To save time and to make the lines move more quickly at our outreach clinics, we ask that students complete the online consent form and upload a copy of the front and back of their insurance card via the Patient Portal before arriving at their appointment. When they arrive, we ask that students bring their Splash ID, insurance card, and wear a shirt that allows for the sleeve to be rolled up.
If your student is unable to attend our outreach events, flu shot appointments will be available at the Student Health Center Uptown beginning on Nov. 10. To make a flu shot appointment, students should call 504-865-5255.
