QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Q: Are there more layoffs planned for this year?

Justin Gammage, Chief of Staff to President Parham: “There are no plans for further layoffs in this current fiscal year. However, we cannot foresee what will happen in the future, as the state's revenues fluctuate, contract negotiations and enrollment changes are unpredictable, and instability in Washington, D.C., creates uncertainty across the higher education landscape.”

Q: What are the university's plans for improving enrollment after years of decline?

William Franklin, Vice President of Student Affairs: “We have been looking very closely at our enrollment operations and have already taken steps to bolster those efforts. However, enrollment is just one piece of our challenges, and there are external factors impacting enrollment that we cannot control, such as admissions practices at other CSU campuses, or demographic shifts across California. I encourage those who are interested to attend our Enrollment Summit tomorrow to learn more and participate.”
