SPECIAL NOTICES
Upcoming Funeral Liturgy: A funeral liturgy for the late Brtitta Chambers will take place on Thursday, April 24, at 11:00 a.m. Your prayers and presence are requested. To join virtually, click here
Christ Church Art Show: We are delighted to announce the return of the Christ Church Art Show, a beloved parish event that was not held in 2024 due to the renovation of Linthicum Hall. This year’s show will take place on Saturday, April 26, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 27, 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the C. Boyden Gray Auditorium. It will feature the work of nearly 30 local artists – many of whom are parishioners. All proceeds from the sale of art work will benefit parish outreach programs. Admission is free. All are welcome. Volunteers are needed to assist in various capacities. Questions? Contact parishioners Christy Thorley or Shelley Rodgers. To volunteer, click here
Grand Re-opening of Linthicum Hall: On Sunday, April 27, the parish community will gather for a combined celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 10:00 a.m. in the Church. The service will be followed by a festive reception marking the grand re-opening of the renovated Linthicum Hall. We look forward to celebrating with you! NOTE: There will be no services at 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., or 5:00 p.m.
Thrift Store Soft Opening: The staff of the Christ Church Thrift Shop offer sincere thanks to those who have continued to support this vital ministry during the renovation of Linthicum Hall. Finally, there is an end in sight! On Sunday, April 27, the Thrift Shop staff will host a "soft opening" immediately following the combined 10:00 Eucharist. Please plan to stop by, tour the new facility, peruse current inventory, and enjoy a glass of champagne. All are welcome.
Christ Church Women’s Retreat: Looking for an opportunity to enter into Resurrection joy? Join your Christ Church sisters for a weekend of prayer and play, reflection and recreation, feasting and fun. The retreat will take place from Friday, May 2 to Sunday, May 4 in historic Cambridge, Maryland. For more information or to register, click here. The deadline for registration is tomorrow, Thursday, April 24.
GENERAL NOTICES
Thursday Morning Bible Study: Parishioners of all ages and stages of life are invited to this fortnightly study of selected psalms, co-led by parishioners Ernest Clark, Virginia Mentz, and David Straut. Sessions will take place on Thursdays, April 24, May 8 and 22, and June 5, at 8:00 a.m., in Keith Hall. Preparation for discussions is beneficial, but not essential.
Sunday School Update: Classes will not be held on Sunday, April 27. On Sunday, May 4, Sunday School classes will meet for the first time in the newly-renovated Linthicum Hall.
Women’s Bible Study: All women of the parish and their guests are invited to participate in an exploration of the Book of Exodus, a captivating and poetic narrative that tells the story of God’s liberation of his people from slavery in Egypt and his gift of the law at Mount Sinai. The group will meet on Tuesdays, April 29, May 6 and 13, and June 10, at 6:00 p.m., in Keith Hall. Those who are unable to attend in person are welcome to participate virtually. For more information, contact Deacon Tiffany Clark.

Choral Evensong: The next service of Choral Evensong will take place on Sunday, May 4, at 5:00 p.m. It will include works by Cecilia McDowall, Robert Parsons, Michael Sitton, and Charles Villiers Stanford. A reception will follow. Do join us… and bring a friend. NOTE: The final Evensong of the 2024-2025 season (and the last service with the parish’s current church organ) will be sung on Sunday, May 18, at 5:00 p.m.
Faith and Foreign Policy: Join us on Monday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m., for the next Faith and Foreign Policy Forum. Our speaker is parishioner and retired career foreign service officer Matt Boyse. He was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs overseeing U.S. policy toward Central Europe and the Office of the Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues. He is now a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and teaches at SAIS Johns Hopkins and George Washington universities. Matt will make opening remarks on the church and religion in Germany today and lessons for the future. The Rector will open the session and parishioner Bill Courtney will moderate the discussion. Light refreshments will be served. If you wish to participate, register here.
Christ Church Career Connections: Conscious that many in the DC metro area may be between jobs, the clergy have revived a program that aims to connect job seekers with potential employers. If you are looking for work, or know someone who is, Christ Church offers the opportunity to submit your resume to a confidential file. Those looking to hire can request access to relevant resumes and CVs. While we won’t list names publicly, we will share the areas in which people are seeking employment. Whether you’re job hunting or hiring, starting close to home might be a great option. To participate, send your resume and contact the Rector.
If you are looking for people or know of someone who is, we currently have people interested in the following areas; Grant Making, Philanthropic Advice, Non-Profit Management, Broadcast Journalist/ production, Media, Intl/ Gov affairs/ coms / public policy,  National Security/ Crisis Management, HR, Project Management, Government Affairs/ Lobbying, Editing/Admin/Research/Writing, Paralegal or Legal Assistant, and IT.
Christ Church Career Connections is a ministry dedicated to supporting parishioners and those they would vouch for in seasons of vocational transition. Through networking, mentorship, prayer, and practical resources, we walk alongside one another in the search for meaningful work and purpose.
