Part-Time Employment Fair

Is your student looking for a paid part-time job this semester? Tell them not to miss the Part-Time Employment Fair on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 1:00–3:30 PM in the MGSC Tavern!

Students will engage with on-campus departments hiring for both FWS-eligible positions and non-FWS positions and off-campus organizations hiring for paid part-time roles.

Students can register for the fair on Handshake. If your student has any questions, they can contact the event lead April Ruiz-Gomez oruizgomez@american.edu.

Project Move-In

Stop by Project Move-In to shop (for free!) for residence hall décor, storage, and other must haves that were donated by students during the spring semester when they moved out of campus residence halls. More than 17 tons of great finds are stored over the summer for students returning in the fall, so before your student buys new, see what new-to-you items students can find for free. Students can find thousands of clothes hangers, storage containers, desk organizers, lamps, trash cans, coffee makers, plastic plants, wall hangings and artwork, and much, much more.

Project Move-In takes place on August 22 and August 25, starting at 11:00am. For best availability, students should plan to arrive early!

Family Weekend

Save the date for Family Weekend 2025, October 3 to October 5, the annual celebration of all things AU! Families are invited to join alumni, students, faculty and staff for performances, talks, tours, food, interactive sessions and events on campus.

Some of this year's highlights include:

★Faculty talks on languages, civic dialogue, the film industry and other topics

★Friday Academic Welcomes hosted by College of Arts and Sciences, Kogod School of Business, School of Communication, School of Education, School of International Service, and School of Public Affairs

★Saturday Festival on the Quad featuring campus life, lunch, and a celebrity chef

★President's Welcome with President Alger, and many other exciting events.

Registration will open later this summer. We hope to see you in October!
