The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) is launching a new statewide Chief Door Opener contest, and we wanted to give our valued partners an exclusive preview before the public launch.

We’re looking for an aspiring homebuyer with true main character energy—someone who can bring people along on the journey, educate and delight audiences across Iowa, and share the real moments, lessons, and milestones that come with pursuing homeownership. One selected participant will win $10,000 while helping inspire others to take their own first step.

As a trusted partner, you can play an important role in helping us find our star. Think about the people you’re meeting with who hope to purchase a home in 2026 and may have a story, personality, and presence that others would want to follow. A few exceptions will apply, of course, including immediate family members of participating lender or Realtor® partners.

While purchasing a home is not required to participate, it is certainly encouraged as part of the journey.

To make promotion easy, the contest website includes ready-to-use graphics, sample social posts and other materials you can begin sharing right away.
