Phase II Cutover

"Cutover" refers to the final phase of the Workday implementation process where the transition from legacy systems to the new Workday system takes place. For Phase II, there are not many systems to transition, with the exception of Cornerstone Learning. In this issue, you will find updates and key dates for each of the modules launching this spring. As discussed in past issues, Adaptive Planning is on hold until 2027.

Workday Learning Launching February 23

The first major milestone in Phase II is just around the corner with Workday Learning officially launching on February 23! This new platform will replace Cornerstone Learning and become the central hub for employee training, professional development, and required learning at W&M.

Key Dates:

February 23: Workday Learning goes live for all employees.

March 1: Cornerstone Learning is disabled for all employees.

While learning history from the past five years is expected to transfer into Workday Learning by April 1, we strongly recommend that all users download and save a copy of their Cornerstone transcript for personal records as a precaution.

You will still be able to log in to Cornerstone, but access will be limited to Performance content only.

How to Save Your Cornerstone Transcript:

1. Log in to Cornerstone Learning before March 1.

2. Navigate to your Transcript.

3. Download or print a copy for your files. Keeping your own copy ensures you have a complete backup and will be able to confirm course and certification history transitioned properly to Workday.

Advanced Compensation

The Advanced Compensation module, which features merit increases and compensation review workflows, will go live on March 2. There is no action needed from general users at this time to prepare. Additional communications and training will be made available in March and April to prepare department heads, administrative staff, and supervisors for the new merit process.

Talent & Performance

While there are no plans to utilize Talent & Performance until the performance review cycle in 2027, the module will go live on February 16. There are no actions or training needed or available at this time. However, we want you to be aware that this functionality will be visible to you in Workday. Job aids are being created, so they will be available if you want to click around. Further details and training will be provided closer to the 2027 performance review cycle.

Period Activity Pay Job Aid

This job aid provides step-by-step guidance on how to add Period Activity Pay in Workday. Period Activity Pay is used to compensate employees for approved, time-bound activities that occur within a defined pay period and are paid in addition to an employee’s regular compensation.

Travel Office Hours

The Workday Travel & Expenses Office Hours are designed to provide employees with direct support and guidance on navigating the new Workday system for travel-related tasks. These sessions are part of a broader training and support strategy that includes job aids, in-person sessions, and microlearning videos.
