INDIE ROOTS ROCK BAND
WISHGARDEN
ROLLS OUT NEW SINGLE
"HOLY WATER"
Anthemic Expression of Solace,
Renewal and Emotional Reckoning
Amidst the “Dark Night Of The Soul”
LISTEN

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Ohio-based roots-rock band Wishgarden has released its new single, “Holy Water.* Depicting an unearthly yet hopeful journey — from rock bottom to redemption and rebirth, an exploration of the profound inner passage that deepens the spirit in preparation for transformation and renewal — the tune is AVAILABLE NOW via all digital retail and streaming platforms.

Written by Wishgarden bandleader and lead vocalist Tony Paparella and co-produced alongside Spencer Coates (Fame Studios), the track emerges as an eerie yet hopeful plea. Paparella invites listeners into an intimate dialogue where introspection unfolds through a deceptively simple melodic structure.

Dramatic, masterclass instrumentation is purposeful and symbolic in arrangement and evocative sonic tapestry. Paparella’s honest, weathered vocals sit at the heart of the atmospheric storm; his soul-stirring performance, ever present with clarity and intention, floats atop crystal clear acoustic guitar. Delicate flute passages echo a haunting soundscape while heavy hitting electric guitars make ominous and powerful entrances, intensifying the fire of spiritual desperation and direction. The hymnal choir evokes spiritual uplift in a triumphant close. The well-thought composition balances fragility and power, capturing the essence of struggle, resilience and an awakening — an anthemic expression of enlightenment and emotional reckoning.

Take me on that winding road
Through its unknown bends
Let the sound of my beating heart
Guide me to my journey’s end

Holy water and trial by fire
Light it up, burn it higher
Make my past go up in flame
Come tomorrow, end my old pain
Holy Water
Holy water, take me in

"The first line of the song, 'Holy water and the devil's sin,' came to me spontaneously, and the context developed naturally from there," Paparella said. "Rare is life without regret, making the theme of rebirth and redemption a powerful statement. Spencer Coates, our co-producer, lent his insightful talents to create an instrumental build that symbolizes an individual's rise to follow a new path. It could be interpreted as a spiritual journey and most certainly a contemplation on changing one's life for the better."
The recording spotlights the seasoned musicianship of band members Mike Lenz (lead guitar) and Daniel Kshywonis (drums), with Paparella giving a commanding performance on lead vocals.
As the third installment in a series of back-to-back releases — following the success of "She Was Dreaming" and "Tomorrow’s Song" — the new single sets the stage for the band’s highly-anticipated sophomore project arriving mid-summer. The previous two focus tracks have garnered more than 400k cumulative Spotify streams to date.
