Getting Started with Contingency Management

Contingency management (CM) is an evidence-based treatment approach for multiple substance use disorders that uses incentives to reinforce behaviors related to recovery from substance use. This fact sheet provides an overview of the intervention as well as information about managing a rewards system, measuring success, and funding the program.

Advance Care Planning with People Experiencing Homelessness Online Course

The Advance Care Planning with People Experiencing Homelessness Online Course is free to the public.
Key Topics in the Course:
  • Introduction to advance care planning
  • Skills for advance care planning conversations
  • Documenting wishes and advocating for values-aligned care
  • Supporting grief
The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) has accredited this course for 2.0 continuing education units (CEUs).
HHRC does not charge any fees for the training or CEUs.

Is your agency currently hiring for a position serving people experiencing or at risk of homelessness? Are you looking for your next role? We invite agencies to submit open job listings to be advertised on the HHRC website! 
Positions must relate to supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness who have SMI, SUD, or COD. HHRC staff will review incoming listings for appropriateness and contact agencies with any questions.
HHRC does not charge fees to advertise or view job listings.

Funding Opportunities

Veterans Affairs: Legal Services for Homeless Veterans and Veterans At-Risk for Homelessness (LSV-H) Grant Program

The funds are being made available through VA’s Legal Services for Veterans Grant Program and are designed to help Veterans in several ways, including: 
  • Providing Veterans with representation to prevent eviction
  • Assisting with court proceedings for child support, custody, or estate planning
  • Helping Veterans obtain benefits like disability compensation
  • Defending Veterans in criminal cases that can prolong or increase their risk of homelessness, such as outstanding warrants, fines, and driver’s license revocation

SAMHSA: Methadone and MOUD Treatment Resources

SAMHSA released three new resources for expanding access to methadone treatment and MOUD in institutions:
  • Advisory: Expanding Access to Methadone Treatment in Hospital Settings
  • Advisory: Clinical Considerations for Methadone Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder in Correctional Facilities
  • Guidelines: Implementing Medications for Opioid Use Disorder Treatment in State Prisons

Justice in Aging: The Importance of Federal Rental Assistance for Older Adults  

The issue brief highlights how expansion of federal rental assistance, in addition to supporting housing stability, would benefit older adult health and economic security while also supporting the ability to age in place.
CMHIS Learning Community: Implementing Effective Mental Health Services in Challenging Times
This Learning Community is designed for managers, leaders, and supervisors in mental health systems or programs. Participants will engage in a three-month (six-session) cohort and explore practical strategies to prepare for, implement, and sustain impactful practices. Apply by June 20.

Infant and toddler homelessness is widespread, under-identified, and under-resourced. This new report shines a light on the gaps — and the solutions within reach.
