Tulane University
Dear Irby, Phelps & Paterson Residents:

I am writing to share an important update on Lake and River Halls, the inaugural buildings in The Village and the two newest residence halls under construction on the uptown campus.

As you know, we had planned for students to move into these new residence halls at the end of the current semester. However, due to delays from the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Ida, supply chain issues, and labor challenges, we are unable at this time to provide the high-quality residential student experience we had planned for you. Therefore, the timeline has been revised. Students will remain in their current residences through the end of the spring semester and will not be moving during the current academic year.

I know this is disappointing and we sincerely apologize that these extraordinary challenges have delayed the project. I understand your disappointment but appreciate your patience and flexibility. We do expect that some of the public spaces in Lake and River will be open during the spring semester for use by our community. We will update you on those opportunities in the months ahead.

Ensuring the highest quality residential student experience for you is our number one goal. Our teams are working tirelessly as we look forward to the completion of The Village project for student move-in in August.

Sincerely,

Patrick Norton
Senior Vice President & COO
