Vanderbilt University's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is offering live and remote classes beginning in January for those age 50 and up.
Dyer's director, Dr. Billy Teets, is teaching An Astronomy Grab Bag that will cover a variety of astronomy topics, including common misconceptions, how astronomers study the universe using light and telescopes, the life cycles of stars, distance determination in space, and the life and accomplishments of Nashville's own Edward Emerson Barnard.

Marcelo Disconzi is an associate professor of mathematics at Vanderbilt University. He earned his PhD in mathematics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2012. He works on mathematical aspects of general relativity and fluid dynamics, with a special focus on how gravity and fluids interact with each other.
