Construction Industry Advancement Program (CIAP) |
CIAP provides employment opportunities and scholarships through the CIAP Summer Internship & Davis/Grosso Scholarship Program. Students should confirm they meet all requirements before submitting an application. Students will participate in a 12-week paid internship followed by a $3,000 scholarship for the 24-25 academic school year. The deadline is October 15. View more information and the application here.

Scholarship Opportunities |
|
|
SMART scholars, through the Department of Defense (DoD), offers scholarships for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students currently pursuing a degree in one of the 24 STEM disciplines. SMART scholars receive full tuition, annual stipends, and guaranteed employment with the DoD after graduation. The scholarship is due December 15. Additional information is available here.

Licensed Site Remediation Professionals Association (LSRPA) Elmeryn Davies Memorial Scholarship |
The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students to pursue careers in the environmental field and to provide students with opportunities to connect with LSRPA members through the LSRPA’s Student Member program to obtain internships and full-time jobs upon graduation. |

Attendees will have the opportunity to weld, flame-cut, use bolting stations, tie rebar, and climb a column. The tour runs approx. two hours and you can expect brief remarks covering what the ironworkers do and safety information before the activities begin. This is a great opportunity to learn first hand how industry fabricates steel used to rebuild infrastructure during a guided facilities tour.

| EIC Group, On Campus Interviews
|
EIC Group is coming to campus on Wednesday, October 23, from 5–6:30 pm to interview civil engineering students graduating in December 2024 and/or May 2025 for a full time Structural Engineering position.
Job Responsibilities: Developing designs and calculations for the construction engineering requirements of heavy highway bridge contractors and steel erectors. These include erection plans, temporary shoring, sheeting and jacking designs. Design of new steel and concrete bridges through the value engineering process are also anticipated. Although primarily consisting of office design efforts, some field time will also be necessary. Candidates should possess strong writing, communication skills and proficiency with AutoCad. The candidate should also be willing to obtain a PE when eligible.

The Hugo Neu Corporation Sustainability Seminar Series, organized by the MS program in Sustainability Management, is an effort to connect our students to professionals in the field of sustainability. This is a weekly series sponsored by Hugo Neu Corporation and jointly sponsored by Geosyntec Consultants. Cosponsors are Brown and Caldwell, Lozier Inc., The Catalyst Group, and H2M Architects and Engineers. The seminars happen every Tuesday between 5-6pm via Zoom.
