Employment Opportunity - Medical Assistant Open Position

Looking to gain medical experience? Benenati Foot and Ankle Care Centers are looking a Part-Time Medical Assitant. The position can provide opportunitys to gain hands-on experience, working alongside doctors, and learning valuable information in the world of podiatry!
Some reponsiblities include:
  • Obtaining vitals and patient history
  • Taking x-rays
  • Providing nail care
  • Setting up and assisting for procedures done in the office

Study Abroad Program - Public Health in Ghana

For those interested in studying abroad while getting field experience, Oakland University's three-week faculty-led program to Ghana runs from June 7 - 30, 2024. Students will have a hands-on, community driven experience covering social issues affecting women and children. Students will collaborate with the Center for Learning and Childhood Development Ghana, a non-profit organization in Accra. Participate in community-based health care through visits to facilities and community clinics, engage with professionals to understand the health needs of a developing low- middle- income country.

Summer Research - UM-SMART

The application for the University of Michigan's Summer Undergraduate Research Program (UM-SMART) has now opened.

This is a 10-week summer undergraduate research program sponsored by the University of Michigan Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP, which is an MD/PhD program) on the medical campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. UM-SMART is designed for undergraduate students who have an interest in obtaining a combined MD/PhD degree leading to a career in academic medicine as a physician-scientist performing basic research relevant to human health and disease. As a UM-SMART summer research fellow, students work full-time in a basic research laboratory under the mentorship of a research faculty member. (Students participating in a lab receive a stipend of $4,700 plus residence hall housing and a meal allowance.)

MSTP will be hosting an Information Session on January 24, 2024 from 12:00pm-1:30pm EST.  This is an informal chat with program staff and current fellows to answer questions about our MD/PhD program, the admissions process, and Michigan.  Interested students can register to attend.

Summer Research - MSU BRUSH Summer Internship

The 2024 M-SURE program will support ten undergraduate trainees for a summer research experience with mentors from an outstanding pool of faculty investigators engaged in cutting-edge basic and clinical research related to diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolic diseases.
