Dear Public Power Supporters,

San Francisco has a chance to take a major step toward clean, affordable, community-owned energy, and we want you to know how to get involved.

On Thursday, July 9th, the San Francisco Planning Commission will hear from the Planning Department on the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the PG&E Power Asset Acquisition Project, also known as Our City, Our Power.

Our City, Our Power is San Francisco’s effort to purchase PG&E’s local electric grid and put it in public hands, with the goal of delivering:

  • Lower electricity rates
  • Cleaner, more sustainable energy
  • Greater investment in our communities

Why this matters:

Right now, PG&E owns and controls the local electric grid—and has a long track record of blocking affordable housing, delaying transit projects, and charging excessive fees for basic hookups. Public power offers a better way forward.

How you can help:

This hearing is an opportunity to learn more about the environmental review and voice your support for the project. You can:

  • Attend the hearing in person
  • Submit a public comment by email
