Timely Warning from Campus Safety

The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating two burglary cases involving an identified suspect. The first incident occurred on Sept. 1, 2026, with the second incident on Sept. 14, 2026. The suspect entered Loomis Hall gaining access beyond the lobby area. The suspect has been identified as Jesse Lupo, a 31-year-old Caucasian male. There is an arrest warrant for Jesse Lupo. Lupo is a registered sex offender with a conviction for Invasion of Privacy – Sexual Gratification-attempted. The suspect has a black ink tattoo of a "sea crocodile" on the interior of his right arm.

If you encounter this suspect, do not contact him. Call 911 and notify Campus Safety.

Note that while these two incidents occurred at Loomis, this suspect has been observed near other residential halls on campus.

These incidents present an opportunity to reinforce a few safety recommendations.

Campus community members are encouraged to:

  • Lock their residence hall rooms.
  • Do not allow people to piggyback.
  • Do not prop open, disable, or otherwise alter door locks or latches.
  • Keep room keys with them at all times.
  • Use a buddy system while walking on campus after dark.
  • Use the RAVE Guardian application. 
  • Report suspicious activity, behavior, or circumstances immediately.
  • Utilize Campus Safety services and resources when available.

Anyone who sees this suspect is encouraged to call 911 immediately and move to a safe location.

Timely warnings are issued to provide information about a potentially dangerous situation at or near Colorado College and to provide our students and employees with the information necessary to make decisions or take appropriate actions to ensure their safety.
