I am Alexander Stanczak, President of the Student Government Association (SGA). On behalf of the entire Student Government, I want to extend an exciting welcome back to campus!
For those less familiar with the organization, our main focus is to advocate for and empower the undergraduate student body, enhancing the student experience through leadership, communication and collaboration with faculty, staff and administration.
There are many ways you can get involved in the SGA and make a huge impact on our campus. Follow us on Instagram (@stevens_sga), join our Slack Workspace, email us (sga@stevens.edu) and check out our DuckLink throughout the semester to stay up-to-date on what we are doing.
We host Senate Meetings weekly on Sundays at 7:00PM which are open for anyone to attend and speak to us about anything going on around campus. Our first Senate meeting of the semester will take place on Sunday, January 26 at 7:00PM in Gateway North 103.
As we begin the semester, a few important events to take note of:
Getting Involved: Upcoming Senate Elections
If you are looking to get involved with the Student Government, the first step would be to run for Senator. A role as a Senator provides an opportunity to take ownership over campus impact, build upon your professional experience and skills and network with professionals. In order to get acquainted with the process, the SGA will be hosting two interest sessions on the following dates:
Tuesday February 4, from 4:00PM - 5:00PM in Babbio 104
Thursday February 6, from 7:30PM - 8:30PM in Babbio 102
Otherwise, the steps to run are as follows:
February 3 - February 10: Fill out the Intent to Run Form.
February 10 - February 17: Voting period starts; each candidate will need to obtain at least 50 votes from undergraduate students.
February 20: Results announced!
Please reach out to Jeylan Jubran (jjubran@stevens.edu) with any questions.
