Engineering students looking for a unique hands-on summer paid internship in naval ship design, the Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP) at the Center for Innovation in Ship Design (CISD) may be just what they’re looking for. Construction Industry Advancement Program (CIAP) |
CIAP provides employment opportunities and scholarships through the CIAP Summer Internship and Davis/Grosso Scholarship Program. Students completing their sophomore or junior year are eligible to apply. Students will participate in a 12-week paid internship followed by a $3,000 scholarship for the 26-27 academic school year. United Integrated Services (UIS) |
UIS is currently seeking students who are graduating with a degree in civil engineering, construction engineering and management or mechanical engineering. More about the company may be found here. Scholarship Opportunities |
|
|
SMART scholars, through the Department of Defense (DoD), offers scholarships for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students currently pursuing a degree in one of the 24 STEM disciplines. SMART scholars receive full tuition, annual stipends, and guaranteed employment with the DoD after graduation. The scholarship is due December 15. Additional information is available here.

Licensed Site Remediation Professionals Association (LSRPA) Elmeryn Davies Memorial Scholarship. |
The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students to pursue careers in the environmental field and to provide students with opportunities to connect with LSRPA members through the LSRPA’s Student Member program to obtain internships and full-time jobs upon graduation. The deadline is October 31. More information and the application here.

Associated General Contractors (AGC) Scholarship |
The 2026-2027 Undergraduate and Graduate AGC Scholarship is now open. The scholarships for undergraduates are $2,500 per year ($1,250 if you have half a semester) and can be renewed for up to three years. Graduate awards are $3,750 annually up to a maximum of $7,500. The application is available here and will close on November 1, 2025.

The American Society of Highway Engineers North Central New Jersey Section Scholarship |
The American Society of Highway Engineers North Central New Jersey Section Annual Scholarship is dedicated to supporting the academic and professional aspirations of students. The application is available here and closes December 5, 2025. Over the last two years, CEOE students have won the first, second, and third place scholarships.

This trip has been generously supported by the Faculty-Led Field Trip Grant from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in work stations such as: steel erecting, welding (real and virtual), torch cutting, connection mock up, and column climbing. The tour runs approx. two hours and you can expect brief remarks covering what the ironworkers do and safety information before the activities begin. This is a great opportunity to learn first hand how industry fabricates steel used to rebuild infrastructure during a guided facilities tour. Lunch will follow.

Location: Springfield, NJ (logistics to be communicated after October 16)
Time: Departing Hoboken by approximately 9:00 am and returning to Hoboken by approximately 2:00 pm. Additional information will be communicated by October 16.

Note: Only 30 students will be permitted to attend this trip and will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you RSVP ASAP.
Safety: If available, please bring your own PPE. If not, it will be provided by our hosts. Students should wear long pants, athletic tops, and closed-toe shoes. Those wishing to do welding or burning activities need work style boots.

Environmental Engineering Consulting in New York City - Intern to Full Time Seminar
|
Description: Ryan will be presenting on his experience in the engineering consulting world of NYC and his experience at Brown and Caldwell. He will share some of the projects that he is working on and the various roles that those pursuing a career in the industry could find themselves in. He will also be discussing his journey to reach the full time position he is in now and share advice on ways to break into industry.

Speakers: Ryan Krawczyk (BE ‘24) attended Stevens as an environmental engineering undergraduate student with a minor in green engineering. He has worked at Brown and Caldwell since the summer of 2023 starting as an intern in their Tampa office and now as a full-time Staff Environmental Engineer in their Manhattan office. On campus, Ryan was the president of the Stevens Environmental Engineering Professional Society (SEEPS) and served on the CEOE Undergraduate Advisory Committee.

Professional Ethics in Engineering Seminar
|

Description: According to the NSPE Code of Ethics, “Engineers are expected to exhibit the highest standards of honesty and integrity. Engineering has a direct and vital impact on the quality of life for all people. Accordingly, the services provided by engineers require honesty, impartiality, fairness, and equity, and must be dedicated to the protection of the public health, safety, and welfare. Engineers must perform under a standard of professional behavior that requires adherence to the highest principles of ethical conduct.” This seminar explores the important role of ethical principles in guiding engineers' decisions and actions. It emphasizes the importance of integrity, accountability, and public safety in professional practice. Participants will discuss moral dilemmas, and the responsibilities engineers have to society, their profession, and the environment. The seminar aims to equip students with the tools and frameworks needed to navigate complex ethical challenges in their future careers.

Speakers: Professor Muhammad R. Hajj is the George Meade Bond Professor, Chair of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering and Director of the Davidson Laboratory at Stevens Institute of Technology. Dr. Hajj is a renowned scholar in the fields of nonlinear dynamics, fluid mechanics, structural dynamics and energy harvesting. Before joining Stevens, Dr. Hajj was a Professor of Engineering at Virginia Tech where he oversaw the development of industry-directed energy-related science and technology research programs.

Fall 2025 Sustainability Series
|
The Hugo Neu Corporation Sustainability Seminar Series, organized by the MS program in Sustainability Management, is an effort to connect students to professionals in the field of sustainability. This is a weekly series sponsored by Hugo Neu Corporation and jointly sponsored by Geosyntec Consultants. Cosponsors are Brown and Caldwell, Lozier Inc., The Catalyst Group, and H2M Architects and Engineers. The seminars happen every Tuesday between 5-6pm via Zoom. Beginning the week of September 22, tutors are available at the below times to assist with: homework questions, understanding key concepts, preparing for exams and study tips and strategies

CEOE Exam Review Sessions
|
The CEOE department will be hosting review session for several upcoming exams. Te sessions will all take place in Davidson Lab 238 (CEOE Center for Student Success). Students should enter Davidson Lab through ABS. Students are welcome to come to any portion of these sessions. The tutor hosting the session will have a set of review questions they will run through and then there will be extra time for any specific questions students may have.
