March 2022 Teacher of the Month
In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.
Lauren Thacker graduated in 2005 from The John Cooper School in Texas then attended Oklahoma State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 2009 and a Master of Business Administration in 2011.
Lauren teaches English IV, Creative Writing, and R.E.A.C.H., a mentorship class at Mustang High School, where she was named 2020-2021 District Teacher of the Year.
Education is most definitely Lauren’s calling—she works daily to challenge those around her, not only professionally, but as individuals; she reminds us all to laugh, enjoy ourselves, and create lasting relationships with those around us. She continually encourages her students to achieve high academic standards, while also creating lasting relationships and a rapport within the classroom; she strives to make her classroom a space where students feel comfortable, welcomed and engaged.
Lauren loves reading, dogs, attending Scottish festivals, going to Disneyland, traveling, eating exotic foods, and spending time with her family.
