Projects are for 24 months with budgets up to $200,000. ERI is open to all faculty whose projects align with participating NSF engineering divisions, so long as the PI has not received prior federal funding as a PI, Co-PI or equivalent role, with some allowed exceptions. See the full solicitation for participating divisions and eligibility details. Upcoming NSF ERI webinars: Friday, May 5th at 3pm; register. Tuesday, July 18th at 2pm; register. NSF ERI deadline: Sept. 15, 2023.
Fulbright Scholars Competition for 2024-2025 Open
The Fulbright U.S. Scholars Program for faculty and other professionals is now open for the 2024-2025 academic year. Applications are due September 15, 2023. Now is the time to identify and reach out to potential hosts! You can also view Fulbright application resources, and sign up for virtual office hours and webinars (and view archives of past webinars) this spring. To receive program updates and application resources, connect with Fulbright. OSP hosted an application workshop in late March, but if you were unable to attend and would like to view the recording or have other questions, please contact Robert Gutierrez (jrg029@bucknell.edu), Bucknell's Fulbright Scholar liaison.
Reminder! OSP Proposal Reviewer Initiative and Mentoring Exchange (PRIME)
Contact the OSP staff or Prof. David Rovnyak, Faculty Fellow (drovnyak@bucknell.edu) any time you would like us to identify another faculty reviewer for your draft proposal materials. PRIME maintains a list of faculty and staff with grants experience and expertise who have expressed interest in providing feedback and comments to their peers on draft proposals being developed for submission to external funding agencies and foundations.

Social Sciences
11/1/23. The George A. and Eliza Gardner Howard Foundation: Science and Technology Studies. Fellowships in Science and Technology Studies support scholars examining the structures and practices of science and technology in any time or place, including but not limited to the historical development of scientific and technological ideas, the social and institutional organization of science and technology, the representation and cultural manifestations of science and technology, and the social, cultural, and intellectual impact of science and technology on the world, but not scientific or technological research. Successful applicants are early mid-career who have completed at least one major project, and have up to 4 years to use the award, as the Foundation recognizes that its cycle of focus areas may not align with individuals’ career plans.

Opportunities for Primarily Undergraduate Institutions
9/5/23 (anticipated). NSF: Research Experiences for Undergraduates. This program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the NSF. This can be through REU Sites, for proposals which conduct projects that engage a number of students in research or REU Supplements which are a component of NSF proposals or ongoing NSF-funded research projects.
Deadlines vary by program. NSF: Research Opportunity Awards (ROAs). ROAs typically enable PUI faculty to pursue research as part of a collaborative research team as visiting scientists at other NSF-supported institutions. A ROA is intended to increase the PUI faculty member’s research capability and effectiveness, to improve research and teaching at his or her home institution, and to enhance the NSF-funded research of the host principal investigator (PI). Most frequently, ROA activities are summer experiences, but partial support of sabbaticals is sometimes provided.
