17th Annual VPA Symposium

Friday, November 17 | 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. | Student Life Center

This interdisciplinary one-day conference highlights postdoctoral research as well as provides a venue for networking and professional development.

Postdocs have the opportunity to present their research through either a lightning talk (brief oral presentation) or a poster presentation. Best presenters in both categories received prizes to be presented at the closing event.

Registration to attend is open through October 27 via this link. Day-of registration is available, but boxed lunches will be reserved for those pre-registered. Please find the full line-up of events below.

Individual Development Plan (IDP) Workshop

Tuesday, October 24 | 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. | 360 Engineering & Science Building

All postdocs complete an IDP early in their postdoc appointment and on a yearly basis. Bring your lunch and learn how to benefit from this important document. Light snacks and refreshments will also be provided.

Duco Jansen, Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Faculty Affairs, School of Engineering, will present.

GPAS: Peak Performance Series

The Graduate & Postdoc Academic Success Program (GPAS) will be hosting the workshop designed to acknowledge the pressures of academia, to share experiences about how they affect our work, and to outline strategies on how to fight procrastination and increae efficiency in an ever-demanding environemnt.
