Job Opportunity -- iScribeMD

iScribeMD is a medical scribe service that gives the opportunity for undergraduate pre-medical, pre-health or gap year students to receive much needed medical exposure. The students gain a vast amount of medical experience, and they are often accepted into medical programs with letters of recommendations from our providers whom they have worked with.
We currently have positions available in the Clarkston, Kalamazoo, Marshall, Ann Arbor, and Adrian area. I'm reaching out to see if we could place a monthly ad in the weekly newsletter to let students know about this excellent opportunity. It would only further supplement their application when it comes time for them to apply.

Career Option -- Medical Laboratory Science Program

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC,) medical laboratory professionals conduct approximately 14 billion laboratory medical tests annually, which provide about 2/3 of all the necessary and critical results for physicians and other health care professionals to make accurate medical decisions. Simply put, laboratory testing is the single highest-volume medical activity affecting Americans from cradle to grave.
To prepare for a career in medical laboratory science, a student must have a bachelor's degree in science plus clinical education in an accredited medical laboratory science program. The purpose of our programs are to offer students with bachelor’s degrees in science, an opportunity to train in a working clinical laboratory under the guidance of medical laboratory scientists using state-of-the-art equipment to gain the practical knowledge and technical skills for future employment in the healthcare industry.
We are always looking for bright, motivated, and enthusiastic applicants with bachelor’s degrees and laboratory skills in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Health Science, Microbiology, or Molecular Biology to join our 46-week MLS program. Please see the attached brochure for a general introduction and visit our Medical Laboratory Science Program website here for additional information. Although the August deadline for applications has past, we are extending the application season for the January 2024 start date until November 15th. It is our hope that you might pass this information along to any recent graduates you may know, or those students who plan to graduate in December 2023.
Upon successful completion of the clinical program, graduates are eligible to take the national Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification examination offered through the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) and become gainfully employed in the ever-changing medical laboratory profession.

Now is the time to register for APTA’s fall Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Education Virtual Fair, taking place on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 10am-8pm ET!
This virtual event is a great opportunity for students exploring careers in physical therapy as well as those who have already applied or been accepted to DPT education programs to connect with numerous DPT programs! Staff from the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS) along with current students, faculty, and practitioners will also be available in order for attendees to ask questions, explore their education options in physical therapy, and continue preparing for their career as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
New for this year, we have three live presentations with Q+A sessions afterwards: 11:00 AM ET: Preparing to Apply Through PTCAS 2:00 PM ET: How to Build a Competitive Grad School Application 4:00 PM ET: Understanding the GRE®*
*Those who attend this presentation will receive a discount code toward registration for the GRE.
Come find out what being a DPT student is all about. Hear from educators what you can expect once you enroll in a DPT education program. Speak with practitioners about what you can expect in your day-to-day life once you become a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy.
If you are still looking into applying to DPT education programs in the current PTCAS application cycle or in an upcoming cycle, or if you have already applied but still have questions about the field of PT, please consider registering for the APTA Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Education Virtual Fair today!
