"Much of the attention and research have been focused on the development of these new large language models (LLMs), but relatively less has been done on how we should use LLMs, the societal consequences and potential policy recommendations," Lee explained.

"Aside from the internet, I predict that there will be a large rush to incorporate these tools into everyday business processes."

NDDCEL Advisory Board Member Dr. Mary C. Gentile is the editor and co-author of a series of case studies in Tech Ethics for use in the workplace or the classroom, including a case on careers in social media developed with NDDCEL Faculty Director Jessica McManus Warnell. Several cases were made possible with a grant from the Deloitte Foundation.

Notre Dame is one of 200 stakeholders creating a new consortium to establish advanced measurement techniques to identify the risks of AI and develop safe and trustworthy systems.

The NDDCEL will host a spring '25 forum to bring together industry leaders and researchers for a day of learning from today's business considerations including AI. More information will be available soon.
