UT Austin Office of the Provost
Dear faculty colleagues,
Please submit your textbook and course material selections for Spring 2027 to support student affordability and first-day access to required resources. UT Austin partners with the University Co-op and UT Libraries to comply with state requirements and expand access to both textbooks and other educational materials. Timely submissions help ensure these resources are available to students when classes begin.
Key Deadlines:
  • Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026: Standard course materials
  • Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2026: Longhorn Textbook Access (LTA) materials
How to Submit:
Email textbooks@universitycoop.com for your unique submission link, or visit the 4th Floor Buying Offices of the University Co-op store.
Consider Longhorn Textbook Access (LTS):
Longhorn Textbook Access provides students with lower-cost digital materials delivered through Canvas and available by the first day of class. Where appropriate, we encourage you to participate in this program.
Why Early Submission Matters:
Providing textbook and course material information in a timely manner benefits everyone involved, but, most importantly, it supports our students and their success. Early submissions enable the University Co-op and UT Libraries to:
  • Provide Day One or earlier access to textbooks and required materials to students
  • Research and source the highest-quality options at the lowest possible cost
  • Maximized student eligibility for the UT for Me Textbook Credit and Co-op Course Material Scholarship
  • Ensure compliance with Texas HB33 and HOP 2-9970
Additionally, early submission allows the UT Libraries to check against our collections and licensing to provide non-textbook content for students, as it can be made available to support classes.

Thank you for your commitment to student success. Your timely action directly reduces costs and improves access for our students.

With appreciation,
ROBERT H. McDONALD
Senior Vice Provost and Director UT Libraries
