Upcoming changes to your FACTS account

This Thursday the FACTS Management website will be undergoing a new integration nationwide that will change slightly how we do billing.

All families will be required to have a FACTS account starting this Fall, and all billing will run through FACTS, including incidentals like lunchroom, athletics, field trips and more.

A detailed email with further instructions will be sent out later this week.

Some of the benefits include the ability to now use a Visa card and there will be no fees for ACH payment anymore.

There is a one-time annual fee that will be charged to each account by FACTS, with no extra cost if you are already enrolled in a FACTS Tutition plan.

Meet our new Student Center Manager

Miranda Steele is our new Student Center Manager.

We are so excited to welcome Miranda back to our campus for this important job. She previously worked as a substitute teacher and classroom aide for SCA.

She has past food experience at Tim's Kitchen in Orting and Eurest Boeing Cafe in Puyallup, among others.

A native of Orting and a graduate of Orting High School, Miranda will likely look very familiar as she is the sister of Elementary Aide Anna Little.

We are so excited for you to meet Miranda.

Meet the 2023 football coaching staff

Football season is right around the corner and we are so excited to announce our new coaching staff.

Led by head coach Lance Powers, the Lions are scheduled to open their season at 1 p.m. Sept. 2 at Charles Wright Academy.

Powers, who played collegiately at Central Washington University, is the lead pastor at Puget Sound Foursquare Church in Tacoma.

Joining him on staff are Washington state Hall of Fame coach Marty Parkhurst, assistants Tim Weaver and Brian Foster, assistant coach and trainer Dr. Tom Siler and sports administrator Jen Shutter.

Elementary School playdate set

Do you have an Elementary School student coming to SCA this fall? Then you won't want to miss our Elementary School Playdate scheduled for 10-11:30am on Tuesday, Aug. 22.

This is a time for children to interact and play together, meet the elementary school teachers and for parents to get to know each other.

Bathrooms will be available inside, but classrooms will be closed.

Middle School elective choices are here

Signups for Middle School elective classes is underway and you want to be first in line to make sure your student gets into the classes they want.

You can access the Middle School elective choices form here or on our website under Family Resources.

Please print out the form, fill it out and email it to Director of College Career Counseling and Registrar Amy Reinmuth at areinmuth@soundchristianacademy.org.

Priority is given to students based on date/time this form is returned to the office.

Are you new to Sound Christian Academy? Then you won't want to miss our New Parent Orientation scheduled for 5-6:30pm Tuesday, Aug. 22 in the Worship Center.

Childcare will be provided.

This important night will give you and your students the tools to be successful this school year.

Orientation will run from 5-6pm and there will be an ice cream social in the courtyard from 6-6:30pm.

You will hear from the Dean of Education and the Dean of Students, plus other administrative staff, learn about the Parent/Student Handbook, discipline policies, pick up and drop off rules and more.

Back to School Night set for Aug. 28

The best words a parent can hear: Summer is almost over.

And with summer ending it is almost time for Back to School Night!

This year's event will be from 5-6:30pm on Monday, Aug. 28 with the bulk of the event happening in the gymnasium.

There will be food and fun, plus tons of information, free shirts for students and more. You won't want to miss this great night.

High School Retreat reminder

Our annual High School Retreat is right around the corner.

It will be held Aug. 30-Sept. 1 at Black Diamond Camp in Auburn.
