Sacramento State professors from Engineering, Art and Sociology are collaborating on an innovative project to bring sustainable energy education to local high schools. The project, funded through a $25,000 CSU grant, creates workshops combining artistic expression with practical energy solutions.
"We want to reach the kids, the new generation, and show them what careers in STEM look like," said Sarvenaz Sobhan, assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering. The project aims to help low-income communities understand and access renewable energy options.
The interdisciplinary team is engaging students through art projects and technology demonstrations, while developing tools to help families evaluate sustainable energy solutions for their homes.
