Seventeen undergraduates are gaining hands-on experience through Sac State’s Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE), a paid, faculty-mentored program that supports full-time research on projects that can further both their education and future careers.
The students are tackling real-world questions – like the impact of climate change on marine life and the formation of Sierra Nevada rocks – while building skills and professional networks.
“This experience is something that students can apply to their continued studies and ultimately carry with them into their future careers,” said Chemistry Professor Katherine McReynolds, the program coordinator.
